Black Sugar’s Lolita Shoes~

Hi Everyone!

Following the last post I wrote about lolita shopping in Paris, I will bring you now the lolita shoes from the Black Sugar shop!

Those are usually made in imitation (patent) leather and there are even some models in faux suede! All in all, the quality is great and you will definitely be satisfied by your purchase if you bought a pair of Black Sugar shoes!

So if you’re an international lolita visiting Paris, here are some shoes you could find in Paris~ (I put the model reference number as well so that you can find the shoes easily on the official website^^)

Gothic lolita style! REF 9893.

Ankle cuff lolita shoes, also available in black, REF 9892.

Faux suede Wedge flats, REF 9890.

Lolita shoes with bows ans heart shaped buckles, also exists in pink, REF 9870.

Unusual color: yellow lolita shoes! also available in pink, white, silver, red, lavender, green and black. REF 9812.

REF 9812 in lavender (the bows are removable on all models).

Ankle strap shoes (also available in pink), REF 9801.

Light pink platform shoes with cute bows, REF 9870.

Hot red shoes with triple bow strap, REF 8070.

By the way, they are some pairs which are available immediately and others which are made only on order. If the model you want is on order only, you should order it at least a month before your arrival in Paris as it takes between 15 and 30 days before the shoes are ready!

As for the shoe size, they are available from 34 to 44 usually (French size). You may convert it to your country’s equivalent but the safest way to have fitting shoes is to use your foot lenght:

T34= 22 cm

Lolita Shopping in Paris!

Hi there!

It’s been two weeks since I’ve written anything in here as we got a couple of public holidays in France which led me to stay put at home and spend most of my time reading and sleeping^^

But now I am back to go on with the introduction of the Black Sugar shop in Paris!

So after cosplay, let’s talk about lolita fashion for a bit!

For those who don’t know, lolita fashion as I mean it here as nothing to do with the western view of the « nymphet ». It is quite the opposite actually!

Lolitas in the « Japanese way » are meant to be ladylike and modest from what I could see, they enjoy tea parties and « feminine » activities like cooking and knitting for example (somebody correct me if I’m wrong, still a noob at this :D).

I myself didn’t really know about lolita fashion until very recently and I didn’t consider it fashion but more like cosplay. However I realized how wrong I was by attending this event last September in Paris: Tokyo Crazy Kawaii!

This was like a revelation as I got to discover more about fashion and in particular about lolita fashion…

The Black Sugar shop I was talking about in earlier posts is interesting as they offer various lolita items coupled with affordable prices. I mean at first, I was really baffled by the big brands’ prices but I get that there is this price quality ratio and stuff going on… Still my wallet couldn’t go there so I was simply delighted to find about Black Sugar’s lolita goods! At least I could start somewhere!

Dresses, skirts, blouses, hats, socks, shoes and jewelry, Black Sugar tries to cater to every need a lolita could have!

Let’s get started with the clothes then!

Cute sweet pink one piece with teddy bears (also exists in black and in red).

Simple gothic lolita one piece

For the « shiro » lolita, an all white long sleeved one piece!

Black blouse and skirt pack, the skirt is available in other colors as well.

The models are usually cute and simple with lot of small details! They also keep it simple with the colors because a beginner lolita doesn’t necessarily want to start with printed patterns? The prices are also noteworthy as those dresses cost 70€ in average^^ (the hooded cape costs around 30€ I think).

By the way, those dresses can be bought straight away as they are in stock but Black Sugar also has some items that are only made on order like those:

Gothic Lolita JSK, available in other colors as well: pink, lavender, all black, white, yellow and blue.

It usually takes around 15 to 30 days before the dress is done and available to be picked up or dispatched by mail. So if you are just coming to Paris for your holidays, you should order your item in advance to find it ready during your stay!

Also for the sizes, it usually goes from S to XXL and even XXXL some times! Just check the size chart on the official website.

Furthermore, you can also have your dress custom made if the sizes aren’t right by contacting the shop and send them your 3 sizes (bust, waist and hip) as well as the shoulder width!

The follow up is Cosplay!

Hi I’m back from a great week-end! Hope you spent it well too!

I am following with the actual cosplay from the BLACK SUGAR shop since I want to introduce it in the most detailed way possible!

So there we go with the cosplay costumes you can find at the shop!

Well as I said in my 1st post, there is a large range of products and the cosplay section is no exception!

Of course you can find the outfits from ever popular series like Naruto (Akatsuki coat, Naruto’s kid and Shippuden outfits, Sasuke’s, Hokage coat…), One Piece, Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan and the list goes on! In case you don’t find a satisfying equivalent to your size, you can always ask for a tailored outfit as I explained in the first post as well! Also, I did not mention it in the presentation post but if you go to shop and buy something, you cannot get a refund. I think you can return an item and exchange it maybe but I have to confirm this first. So be careful with your choices if you ever go to the shop!

A must go for Anime, Manga and Cosplay lovers in Paris!!

Here is the real first post!

Let me introduce a special shop you have to visit if you ever go to Paris and that you are also interested in cosplay, Lolita and/or gothic fashion and even Asian fashion (mostly Japan and South Korea).

That shop is called “BLACK SUGAR” and is located near the heart of Paris in the Bastille neighborhood at 27 Keller Street in the 11^th arrondissement (27 rue Keller 75011 Paris).

From the title of this article, you can guess that the shop is specialized in the cosplay and costumes business. It is constantly growing and now we can include Lolita, gothic/punk and casual Japanese and Korean fashion to its product range.

There are other many shops in that street but BLACK SUGAR is the one you should favor because you can find so many original items in there from quirky to kawaii, gothic and casual among various other styles.

You can find complete outfits for cosplay, shoes, jewelry, hair accessories as well as Lolita and casual clothing. In fact, BLACK SUGAR is the only shop to offer the custom made service for their cosplay outfits. How does it work? You either contact them by mail (see the end of this entry) or go directly to the shop to show the costume you want done and give your measurements. It takes roughly 30 days for the cosplay to be done and you have to pay for it before it is done once you have agreed on the price given.

Like I said before, there are not only cosplay items to be found at BLACK SUGAR. There is also a “darker” section for rock/gothic fashion with clothing, shoes, jewelry. You can find fun accessories like tattoo sleeves or ear cuffs with interesting shapes…etc.

Talking about interesting, the prices are also very interesting! In fact, most of the items offered are very affordable and there is a great price and quality ratio.

As for the means of payment, they accept cash and Visa cards however American Express cards and (traveler’s) checks are a no go! The clerks are very nice but they cannot do anything about that 🙂 Apart from that, you can ask them pretty much everything, advice for the sizes or availability of an item for instance. They are very open and can handle themselves very well in French, English and Mandarin Chinese.

So if you are planning a trip to Paris in the summer or any vacation, and you are looking for:

–        An anime school uniform (sailor fuku!!)

–        A maid outfit (sexy, cute or both!)

–        A type of kigurumi (Pikachu, Stitch, Totoro, Panda, Penguin…etc)

–        A tailored costume for an anime/manga/video game character

–        Cat, rabbit or fox ears/headbands and even tails…

–        Any original fashion item linked to Lolita, gothic and casual Japanese/Korean style

Among many other things, do come to Black Sugar! You won’t be disappointed!

If by any chance you fall in love with too many things and buy too much, you can always pay an extra fee to have it delivered to your address outside Paris and France (ask the clerks for the prices).

And being the good shop it is, its location makes it very easy for you to continue visiting Paris in a “normal” way. You can find it easily on “mappy” and Google Maps.

As mentioned earlier, BLACK SUGAR is in the Bastille metro station neighborhood which is not so far from the heart of Paris “Châtelet”! So you can visit the famous French revolution place or go for some shopping in Châtelet and Le Marais, visit the “Hotel de Ville” and the Pompidou center or simply hop into the metro line 8 at Bastille and head to the Eiffel Tower.
